South by Southwest Space Science Hangout

This morning, before things really got started in the NASA Experience Tent, Fraser Cain, Pamela Gay, Frank Summers, Alberto Conti, Scott Lewis, Camilla Corona and I invaded the internet to update people on what we're doing here in Austin.

Really fun. The highlight was talking about STEM with Sara Hemenway from Huttu Middle School here in Austin. She told us how she's been working Webb Space Telescope in her class. And Alberto gave us some background on why we're here.

Personally, I'm glad he did that. I had no idea what I was doing here.

Space Fans Show Up @ SXSW

One of the great experiences I'm having here in Austin is that people who've been watching my videos and following me around in virtual space are coming down to see me in 'meatspace'.

Yesterday, three high-school kids stopped by to say hi and talk about astronomy, dark energy and the Webb Space Telescope.

Oh, and they also said they'd make a video with me:

Webb Space Telescope @ SXSW Preview

I really loved the graphics that were generated by NASA and Northrop Grumman for the NASA Experience at South by Southwest, which are designed to "herd" the crowds into the main NASA tent. There is a lot of information packed in these walls, and I wanted to try and capture it.

So, since I make videos, I made a video highlighting some of the information packed into a comparitively small space:
