Comet Crash
See a defenseless gas giant get pelted while astronomers just sit by and WATCH.
A plume of gas is rising from the impact site of the largest comet fragment.   5 minutes after impact
Jupiter's rotation brings impact site into view, revealing dark dust rings spread across an Earth-sized area.   1.5 hours after impact
Dust rings are
beginning to dissipate.
  2 days after impact
Dissipation continues. Dust blotch from impact of a later fragment can also be seen near Jupiter's edge.   5 days after impact
