Video: Artist's Concept of a Transit with a Graphic Light Curve

Artist's Concept Running Time: 16 seconds

Those changes are caused by the slight dimming of the star as a planet passes between it and the Earth. This animation illustrates the dimming effect of a planet on its host star, as represented by the graphic light curve.
