Dark Energy Co-Discoverer Adam Riess Shares Shaw Prize in Astronomy for 2006

June 21, 2006: Astronomer Adam Riess, of the Space Telescope Science Institute and the Johns Hopkins University, and two colleagues, have been awarded this year's $1 million Shaw Prize in astronomy for their discovery of the mysterious "dark energy" that is causing the universe to expand at an ever-faster rate.
