Rodger Doxsey, head of  the Hubble Mission Office at the Space Telescope Science Institute in Baltimore, Md., passed away on October 13, 2009 after a prolonged illness. He oversaw Hubble science operations for nearly three decades and dedicated his life to making Hubble one of the most scientifically productive telescopes of all time.
